United Way’s WeCare program is a medical referral service that connects qualifying individuals with needed services at no-cost that are provided by a large network of volunteer providers including LeeHealth and numerous physician corporate entities.  Last year 409 providers donated $11,494,311  in essential medical care. The program is contracted through the Florida Department of Health Voluntary Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP).  

Applicants must be referred into the program by provider, hospital, or specialist and have a  severe medical condition that cannot be managed by a primary care provider.  Applicants must qualify as 200% under the federal poverty limit, have no health insurance and must be a Lee or Hendry County resident. Other eligibility requirements may apply.
