2017-2018 Pacesetters

The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee has begun its 2017-2018 Pacesetter Recruitment. Pacesetter Companies help Kick Off the United Way Campaign by running their campaigns early, helping set the tone and leading by example.

United Way is seeking companies who want to set the pace toward United Way’s first $10,000,000 goal. Dictionaries define a “pacesetter” as an organization that is the most progressive or successful and serves as a model to be imitated. Last year 160 companies and organizations served as “models to be imitated,” and raised 60% of the United Way Campaign goal.

2017-2018 United Way Campaign Chairs John Clinger and Beth Hendry are urging companies to join them in the Pacesetter Campaign. John Clinger, Senior Vice President of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and Senior Financial Advisor of Clinger, Sizemore, and Associates, and Beth Hendry, Senior Vice-President of IBERIABANK’s Commercial Group in Fort Myers have given the campaign the theme of “The Power of 10.”

Companies agreeing to be Pacesetters will have prominent recognition at the United Way Campaign Kick Off Breakfast on October 31, which is being held at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. Over 900 people attended Kick Off last year. All Pacesetter companies will have their names, company logos, and amount raised displayed on the big screen in a video during the climax of the event. New Pacesetter companies must raise a minimum of $1,000. Renewing Pacesetters are asked to strive for a 5% increase in giving.

Jessica Wells, Vice President Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Chico’s FAS, Inc. said, “As a United Way Pacesetter, Chico’s FAS, and our associates, are proud to lead the way. Making a tangible investment and impact in our community is, and has always been, essential to Chico’s FAS’ DNA. We’re enthusiastic about this year’s Power of 10 campaign and look forward to doing our part to continue to make a difference in the lives of so many individuals in our community.”

Robert Wilson, Vice President/General Manager Enterprise Holdings commented about the value of being a Pacesetter Campaign, “Enterprise Holdings of Southwest Florida is fully committed to support the United Way Pacesetter Program. We would not be where we are today without the support of this community. Giving to the United Way thanks our customers by making sure they have access to a wide variety of help.

“We hear from many of our employees about how the United Way has helped many fellow employees, their families, their friends and/or their customers in the local area. Enterprise Holdings employees participate in the Pacesetter campaign because we want to make sure that our local community organizations will be here when the community needs them. It is our way to say “THANK YOU” to the Southwest Florida community.”
